Statement: As an artist I draw inspiration from environmental issues, global culture, and politics and use a variety of printmaking techniques: letterpress, relief printmaking, collotype, monoprint, lithography, as well as drawing and collage. My Midwestern roots inform my work, which focuses on my appreciation for nature and straightforward design. My goal is simple: the seamless balance of materials, structure, and content. Using printmaking and artists’ books as a means to convey my ideas is important. It allows me to work on multiple levels simultaneously (sculptural, sequential, and visual) while creating a personal experience for the viewer.
